Wadsworth Window for September 2020

If you were looking out our back window a couple of weeks ago you would have seen a sight like this.

We have never gotten more than a dozen peaches from the tree in the past. This year several boxes were harvested with several people in our church canning and freezing them.  What a treat the Lord gave us!

April has been taking physical therapy three times a week after her back surgery six weeks ago. You may remember the surgery was to fuse two vertebrae, L3 and L4 where the spinal cord was being pinched. The Physical therapy has been a painful process because of bursitis in her hips which is now improving. She also suffered an injury in her left knee before the therapist discovered her limitations. We have just returned from the doctor where she received an injection of lubricant and a change of physical therapy order.  The Dr. thinks this will help while she continues to recover from the surgery.

In this letter I have included a sample of the many letters I write to the nursing home residents to minister to their needs. Three residents have passed away since our last letter. None of them COVID-19 related. Unlike some states where the governors foolishly ordered COVID-19 patients be put in nursing homes, Wyoming and Nebraska have done a good job protecting the elderly in the nursing homes from what we can see. That does not mean the restrictions have been easy but the residents have been kept safe.

You may have received word about the Prayer March taking place in Washington D.C. sponsored by Samaritans Purse. Here is Franklin Graham’s letter.

Join Me for Prayer Sept. 26 in Washington, D.C.

America is in trouble like never before in our lifetime. As you know, we have no hope, outside of God. We must call on His Name in faith, repent of our sins, and ask Him to heal our land.
I would like to invite you to join me, my family, and thousands of other believers for a prayer march in our nation’s capital in just a few short weeks. On Saturday, Sept. 26, we will assemble at the Lincoln Memorial and make our way to the U.S. Capitol. We will stop at several points along the way to pray and ask God to heal the divisions in our nation, guide our leaders, protect our religious freedoms, and pour out His Spirit on America.
Let’s come together to show all of Washington—and the nation—that the church of Jesus Christ believes in the power of prayer and that we need more of God in America, not less. Will you stand with us in calling out to God and praying that our nation will turn to Him?

“The Lord was moved by prayer for the land” (2 Samuel 24:25, NASB).

I hope to see you in September. For the sake of our great nation—for the sake of our children and grandchildren—let’s gather in Washington, D.C., and ask the Lord to intervene.
May God bless you, and may God bless America!

Sincerely,
Franklin Graham
President, Samaritan’s Purse

The Church in America is also under attack in many ways and is in desperate need of prayer. According to some statistics many compromises and theological weakening have been made. Please pray that God would strength and motivate the church in America.

                                        Prayer for America

Our Father in heaven. We recognize that You have established the United States of America based on Judeo Christian morals and governing principles. You have done so to put Your own moral nature of truth, righteousness, covenant keeping, freedom, compassion, justice, and mercy on display. You have done so to rise up a nation that would send the Gospel of Christ to the world. Other nations like China and Russia have millions of Christians but are enslaved and unable to organize, raise support and send missionaries to the world. We are so undeserving of the blessings of freedom. But we ask you to keep America free and enable it to continue sending the gospel forth. We ask you for wisdom and discernment for our people so they can know the difference between God blessed free enterprise and government powered cold hearted freedom killing socialism.  And we ask you to revive Your church. Chastise those who are complacent and wandering. Give strength and direction to those who are committed. And this we ask You in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you so much for your prayer and financial support for us as we continue to try to meet the needs of people in nursing homes.

Yours in Christ,
Wade and April
