From the notes of Ed and Gerry…
At a resource center in a nearby town Gerry was with a group that was trying to assist a man who had a financial difficulty. The group had asked Gerry to translate in Spanish for the man as they were going to pray for the man before he left. They did not have a lot of money to offer him for his difficulty but they wanted to offer prayer before he left. Gerry translated as they prayed that God would be with this man as he was one of His and that He would give him good ideas and solutions for this financial challenge. At this point in the prayer the man piped up with “I need a job” and became excited when he realized that he could go to God as the One who could answer his needs. How do we show a new Christian that God is not only a God who saves us but He is a God interested in every detail of our lives? Perhaps One way is by our example and compassion shown to others.
