Rhoadarmer Update 4/16/2020

Covid- 19 changes the way Ministry looks

The world looks a lot different right now- and while the ministry “vehicle” is different it’s no less busy. Some days it’s even busier and more challenging.

Rachel’s Virtual Bible Study has continued as it began with little change. But a study on anxiety and contentment seems even more timely. Next week will be the conclusion of this 14 week study.

GriefShare has gone online! Thankfully the company uploaded all the video content and has even made the workbooks available for purchase individually. Our group of 4 has continued to meet every Tuesday morning. Please continue to pray for these individuals. Grief takes on a whole new identity in isolation and it makes this ministry even more crucial. We have about 4-5 weeks left before this session ends but my plan is to add a summer virtual session. If you are someone you know might be interested in participating please let me know.

Rachel has vamped up online women’s ministry to our New Hope Church ladies. Each week there is a virtual Tea Party she hosts and she also posts a video devotion. This seems to help the women in our church to keep a sense of connection to each other- and to be challenged by the word in the midst of hard circumstances.

Church services and Awana have gone virtual. We’ve had to become video/audio “experts” in a short amount of time. Ha! We are far from experts but we are learning something new each week. We miss our church family immensely and can hardly wait until we get to be in real person fellowship!

Curtis has become somewhat of a delivery man. He has been providing rides for one gentlemen to get groceries and has been grocery shopping for a dear lady who’s shut in normally. He also gets to drop off cds of sermons for those in our congregation who aren’t able to take advantage of our “virtual” services. Don’t worry! He wears his mask and sprays off each delivery with Lysol before handing them off to our people.

God is still at work! We saw two young kids in the Awana accept Christ after participating in Virtual Awana a couple of weeks ago! Aren’t we so glad that He continues to work and bring people unto Himself even in the midst of what is happening??
