Greetings from Germany,
Today marked the end of regular classes and finals begin tomorrow. As we wrap up the school year here at BFA, we’re feeling the weight of goodbyes once again. This is such a beautiful, international community—but it also means that every year, we say farewell to students and staff heading off to new places. Closing chapel today was—as always—a little emotional. These transitions are part of what makes this place so special, but they never get easier.
I (Scott) will be heading to Oregon on June 12 for a special milestone: my 2004 Track Team from Willamette University is being inducted into the Hall of Fame! It’s a real honor, and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with old teammates and reliving some great memories from our time on the track.
While I’m in the U.S. (for only three days), I’ll be at Good Shepherd on the morning of Sunday, June 15—would love to see any of you who are nearby! I’ll be flying back to Germany later that same afternoon.
On the home front, Samuel still has a few more weeks of school, and Stuart doesn’t finish until the end of July—so our family’s summer break is still a little ways off. We will have 11 days of summer vacation together before I have to return to work. My mom and dad will visit us during that time.
We also wanted to share a significant and tender ministry update: our most recent foster baby left on May 14 to move into a long-term home. It was a really hard goodbye—especially for Heather, who grew very attached to him. Please pray for healing as we adjust, and for clarity and perseverance as we continue to navigate some difficult parts of the foster care system. The work is incredibly meaningful, but not without its emotional and bureaucratic challenges.
Thank you so much for your prayers, support, and friendship. Your love and encouragement help sustain us in every season, and we’re deeply grateful.
Blessings,
Scott for Heather and Family
