Overby Odyssey March 2020

Hello Family and Friends,

February is behind us and spring is just around the corner. Just like in many places in the USA, we had a pretty substantial snowfall this February with temperatures dipping below 0 Fahrenheit. But that is in the past, the sun is shining, and on March 1 many of our students are heading back to school for the first time since December 15. We want to keep this letter brief today, but we have a couple of big things that we are asking for prayer for this upcoming week.

1. Passport appointments on Wednesday, March 3. We needed to renew our passports about 2 months ago, but due to the lockdown, the consulate has been closed. Last week appointments suddenly became available so we booked them. All four kids will be getting their passports renewed plus myself (Scott). Pray that the appointment goes smoothly and without a hiccup. We need to drive three hours to get there for our 7:45 am appointment, and we are opting for the early morning departure rather than staying at a hotel the night before.

2. Pray for our current foster baby, as his case will be presented to a judge soon and a decision will be made about his future. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

3. Pray for wisdom as we are seeking God’s will for what He has for us in the future. We want to discern between lockdown fatigue and the prompting of the Holy Spirit (perhaps using lockdown fatigue) to point us in a new direction. We would cherish your prayers in this matter.

Thank you for your faithfulness to lift us up in prayer. We are praying for you that God would strengthen your hearts out of his glorious riches through the Holy Spirit.
