Today, our friends and co-labourers with our tiny house church here in Portugal opened their house to do a movie showing from which Shad Adair (our friend) was one of the producers.
It is a movie that highlighted the impact and complexities of mental illness within a family and beautifully grants a voice for the voiceless… It allows us to step into the realities and gives permission to be uncomfortable, vulnerable, and yet relatable.
There were 16 people that showed with 10 of the people who do not identify with Christ… (Yet!). The conversations afterwards were honest, touching, with people asking deeper questions then what we have heard before.
As our group talked afterwards while lingering it was humbling to hear the stories being shared, the openness to wrestling with ideas of peace, hope, uncertainty, and searching for something greater then themselves.
Please join us in praying for these friends… May we be a conduit of God’s grace and mercy. May we be quick to listen … To listen beyond what words are spoken but for our soul to hear what their soul is searching for.
Thank you for being apart of this tiny community in Portugal. We wait with great anticipation of what the Lord will choose to do.
