A Season of Thanks

We are thankful for the many ways God has been working this fall. It has been a while since we last touched base- and we are sorry. Here’s a short recap of what God has been doing.

We are thankful for new believers. “C” has been coming to church with his fiancée and two little girls for the past couple of months. He is new to church- and is hearing everything for the first time. Curtis was able to sit down with him for coffee earlier this week, and we are happy to say he came to know Jesus as his Savior a few weeks ago. He has a hunger to grow in his new relationship with God and has been listening to the Bible on his daily commute to work. Based on conversations with our children’s volunteers, we believe one of his daughters has also decided to believe in Jesus as her Savior! Pray we may do a good job discipling these new believers.

We are thankful for God’s healing. A month ago, Rachel had a hysterectomy. We are thankful the surgery went well, that she is on the mend, and is slowly getting back into the ministry groove after weeks of recovery.

We are thankful for the continued opportunities to counsel men and women according to God’s word. Sometimes, former counselees need a “reset” and request more counseling. Perhaps things have changed, or they’ve experienced something new that they need help with and hope for. Rachel has been able to meet with a couple of former counselees for just this purpose. Both women are currently in ministry in other places, and these opportunities are becoming long-term mentorship relationships.

Curtis will begin meeting this week with a man whose marriage is on the rocks. His wife is not interested in marital counseling- but the husband knows he needs help. We did the premarital counseling for this couple and would love to see God restore what is broken. While we are extremely saddened by the state of their marriage, we are thankful that the husband is doing what he can to bring his life right before the Lord and that Curtis can walk alongside him now in his time of need. Please pray urgently for reconciliation!

We are thankful for you! We could not do this ministry without the prayers, encouragement and financial support of God’s people. We know many deserving ministries could use your attention, and we are ever humbled that you have partnered with us. Thank you!
