A Table Where Hope and Difficulty Are Held in Sacred Tension
This month felt like watching the Lord gently gather hearts.
Around tables.
In living rooms.
Through honest conversations.
And one particular afternoon stands out.
Recently, I connected with a woman, Beth, who lives about 30 minutes inland from me. She has opened her large property — called House of Mount Zion — as a safe place for people to gather. A place of welcome. A place to breathe.
So we filled two cars.
I picked up several women along the way. Another friend did the same. Some of the ladies were meeting for the first time. Others realized they had crossed paths before. There was laughter, a little nervousness, and quiet anticipation as we arrived.
We shared a meal around one long table. But more than food, we shared ourselves.
Beth gently asked three simple questions:
- What was one good thing from your week?
- What was one difficult thing?
- What surprised you — or what are you hoping for next week?
Eight women sat around that table. One by one, each shared something real. Tender things. Honest things.
And something beautiful happened.
It did not become trauma bonding.
It became sacred ground.
Difficulty and hope sat side by side. We held the tension together. There was space for pain — and space for expectation. It was a gift of vulnerability that felt holy, not heavy.
Each woman who sat there are all in very different seasons of life, different upbringings, different perspectives. But each one is seeking. Each one is longing for more. And I am trusting that Christ is gently drawing them toward Himself.
In the hours that followed, my phone filled with messages:
“I didn’t know I needed that.”
“I didn’t expect the day to be so encouraging.”
“I’m so grateful I came.”
This is the quiet work of the Upside Down Kingdom.
And it is an honor of being part of it.

Please Pray:
- For continued unity and courage among these women
- For hearts that are open and responsive to Christ
- For wisdom as new gatherings and opportunities unfold
- For protection over these tender spaces of vulnerability
- That truth would take root and bear lasting fruit
