The celebration of July 4th 2026 in the nursing home and assisted living was a great time. My part in it was to supply 2026 flags and the picture of a 250 Year banner for each resident who wanted one. The simple gifts were met with great appreciation on the part of the residents. Several of them spoke fondly of celebrating the Bi-centennial 50 years ago.
Residents Serving Residents for Christ
One of our faithful Bible Study attendees puts forth great effort to bring other residents to the Studies. She is in a wheelchair but still puts forth the effort to visit other residents in their rooms to encourage them to come to the Bible Study. She usually gets in touch with new residents soon to invite them to our Bible Study.
One Very devoted Christian man came only three times to our Bible Study before being taken to the hospital. He brought his Bible and expressed appreciation for the study. It appeared he was going to make a great addition to our group. He was taken to hospital and not heard from again. We do not know if he recovered or went to be with the Lord. That is often how it is in nursing home ministry.
