Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read our updates. We have a special request to present to you. We are looking to explore some new methods of support-raising and we would love your help! Recently, we lost a large donor and need to fill a gap of $500 in monthly support. We are looking for people who would be willing to host a dessert night at their home or church, inviting friends and family members whom you believe would be interested in learning about Abby’s Garden and potentially becoming a part of the support team. This would give us the opportunity to come and share, and would be a fun night of visiting, sharing and dessert. If this is a way you would be willing to help, please let us know.
The need to spread the word about Abby’s Garden feels urgent. I am passionate about this ministry because providing quality daycare for Dominican mothers and their children is meeting one of their basic needs. The Dominican Republic is a country where virtually every parent needs to work, and the government-run daycares are institutions in which no parent would want to leave their child. We have a loving staff whom are mostly followers of Jesus, and share His love with the little ones while also reaching out to and discipling their parents. Every time I visit I see firsthand the good we are doing, and I hope and pray we can continue to ensure the ongoing quality care for these 20 kids, as well as the jobs that are being provided for the five women who care for them. Please pray about whether you can be involved in supporting this ministry either by sharing about it, hosting an evening where we can come share, and/or giving financially.
