Reconnecting

We have had a week of relational reconnecting. After leaving our son’s family, went to stay with our oldest and very close friends the Mcfann’s. They have graciously given us a nice room to stay in while we are in the area. Cyntia McFann was praying for Peggy and I before our salvation.

May 21 was Peggy’s birthday; we were treated to a community theater presentation that our daughter was in. Amanda surprised us by inviting friends of us to come to the show. We were able to see some of our friends and New Life family. After the show our friend Chi who has a ministry to Asian visiting scholars in Berkley California treated us to dinner.

We visited our old neighborhood and saw friends as well as our best dog ever, Honey. She now lives with our former neighbors who took her in and love her. We had to give Honey up when we moved to Nepal.

We debriefed with Malcolm and Jean Hunter. The Hunters have served on the frontier mission field reaching out to unreached nomads for over 60 years. They have been encouragers, advocates, mentors, spiritual parents, and dear friends. We also were able to spend the day together on Yosemite.

One of the challenges of the mission field is loneliness, so it has been nice to reconnect with loved ones. We look forward to seeing more of our friends and church family over the summer!
