Bembibre was a mining town, until 4 years ago, the coal mines were the main economic source for the last 150 years, until then this was a town with a great future, but on September 16, 2018 the authorities were forced to close the mines, for this reason the big companies and other businesses that lived from the coal mines, closed, this was a very dark and unfortunate year for companies that generated jobs, this closure led this town to lose population, until that day the number of people who leave this town is growing by leaps and bounds due to the issue of unemployment, and at the same time it seems that the authorities have forgotten about this town.
