This week, Portugal experienced death. It arrived suddenly and with no warning. A road accident brought an end to the lives of two young men filled with hope and dreams. Diogo Jota and André Silva: two famous European soccer players, one of which played for Liverpool FC. Their lives were taken by a car accident caused by the explosion of a tire. Portugal went mute. This loss touched us in Portugal and around the world. Meanwhile, in the time it took me to write this, more than 90 people have died, and only around 16 of them above the age of 70. Death does not choose ages. There are those who say that when you die everything ends. The Bible says this: everything ends, but on Earth. Our earthly life is temporary and almost invisible in the line of eternity. This unquestionable truth moves us to share the Gospel, which is the way of salvation for all of those who believe. Death is always terrible, but whomever dies in Christ goes through a passage towards what is perfect.
