The Abby’s Garden Crew–from left to right–Leidy, Yolenny, Divina, Mariana, and Tania
I was recently in the Dominican Republic, and had a great visit at Abby’s Garden. I loved being able to reconnect with some of the children I already know, and get acquainted with the new ones. The five women are all doing really well, and have their roles and routines down, which ensures that things run really smoothly. I was once again impressed with how things are going.
As always, we had a meeting with the parents of the AG children; more on that below.
I was able to attend the church’s annual women’s outreach event, an Afternoon Tea. At least 8 of the mothers were also in attendance, as well as four of the women who work at Abby’s Garden. This is one of the ways we reach out to the mothers each year, and we were happy so many of them were able to come.

Here are the parents of the Abby’s Garden children, Divina and me at our meeting.
I was able to share the Gospel using bracelets with the colors of the “Wordless Book.” If you are not familiar with these, each color represents an element of the Gospel: black represents sin, red stands for Jesus’ blood, white represents being cleansed from sin, and gold signifies Heaven. After the meeting, one father who attends the church we used to attend in La Vega, thanked me for the bracelet and exclaimed, “These are a great tool to share the Gospel! I’ll be using it to do that!” Pray that he will indeed be bold to share the good news of Jesus with others, and that hearts will be receptive to Him.
Please keep us in mind this Giving Tuesday! Here is a link if you’d like to give. Donations like this really help us fill in the gaps when our monthly support is lacking.

Six of the moms who were in attendance at the Tea, and me 🙂

Two more moms, plus Mariana (and me) 😉
Prayer Requests
Tania, whose husband is not a believer, wants her to quit her job at Abby’s Garden. She has been with us almost from the beginning, and she is a real treasure. The kids all love her and she has such a gentle and quiet spirit, and does not wish to quit. Please pray that God will work in her husband’s heart, first for his salvation, and secondly so that she may continue in her position.
We have a monthly deficit of about $300, which is supplemented by occasional and one-time gifts, but we would love to be fully funded, so pray that God will raise up more monthly supporters.
Thank you so much for your continued care and support. We wish you a happy Thanksgiving!
With love,
Tonya
