Dear friends and prayer partners,
Over the past two years, Lucy and I have had the joy of serving a Brazilian church here in Dallas. When we arrived, there were no trained leaders; however, by God’s grace, we were able to teach theology and leadership classes. Last month, the church ordained several new deacons, and we praise the Lord for the fruit of that ministry! As that season ended, the church needed to redirect its financial support to other ministries.
At the same time, the Lord opened a new and unexpected door for our ministry at Crossroads Bible Church in Talty, TX.
We have known and loved Crossroads Bible Church in Talty for over twenty years. They recently went through a painful season of conflict and loss. After their pastor’s resignation, many members left, leaving only twenty members remaining.
As dear friends of this congregation, we were invited to preach and minister during this difficult time. Lucy and I began praying and fasting, asking God to bring healing and reconciliation between those who stayed and those who left. I began a preaching series on the Sermon on the Mount, focusing on forgiveness, love, and reconciliation. We even had the opportunity to share these messages with both groups. Sadly, reconciliation has not yet taken place—but we continue to pray that the Lord will soften hearts and bring peace.
As the remaining congregation sought a new pastor, they invited us to stay as their part-time bi-vocational pastor. Although their resources are limited, we sensed the Lord’s clear call to help this hurting church. After much prayer, fasting, and counsel from trusted friends—and with encouragement from our mission organization’s president—we accepted the call.
On October 5th, the church held a Celebration Sunday to welcome us.
This new role allows us to continue our missionary work in Brazil and Portugal while helping this local church rebuild in love and unity.
Please continue to pray for us:
• For healing and reconciliation, and growth within the church.
• For God’s provision as we lost financial support from the Brazilian church.
• For wisdom and the power of the Holy Spirit to serve faithfully.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and generous support through all these years. We are truly grateful to each of you!
With love and gratitude,
Moises & Lucy Moura
