Big change ahead for Abby’s Garden!

This is the house we’ve been blessed to use for four years.
As many of you know, we’ve occupied the bottom floor of this property (it is a duplex, with one house above the other), and in many ways it has been such a good spot: the neighborhood is fairly quiet (something quite rare in the DR), conveniently located to most of the families who bring their children to AG, a dead-end street without through traffic, and it’s just a cute house with a floor plan that has worked well for us.
It is also true that we have been at capacity in this space for some time, and have looked at options to either complete the work on the upstairs house, or to make some changes to the downstairs that would allow us to better utilize the space. We ended up deciding to pass on both options, as they felt like more of an investment than was wise in a property that we do not own. But now the owners are selling, so while that is confirmation that we made the right decision at that time, it leaves us with a pressing need to find a new space.
Buying and renting homes has gotten more expensive in the Dominican Republic, so a move almost certainly means our rent will increase. Will you be praying with us that we will trust in the Lord during this time of uncertainty, and that He will provide the perfect place for us, along with the funds necessary to pay for it? We’ve had to cap our numbers at 20 children and 5 women for a year or more now, so maybe this is just the push we needed to actually move into a new space where we have room to grow.

We are so grateful for all of our supporters: those who pray, those who give, those who read our updates, and some of you do all three! We have been blessed to see God continue to provide for these children in the Dominican Republic, some of whom may not otherwise hear about Jesus, or be cared for in a way that reflects His love for them.
With love,
Tonya
