Our visit to Abby’s Garden was great! It was so good to meet the kids in person and see what a great job Divina and Tania are doing. The house is in a perfect location, and I was able to meet some young women with small children in the neighborhood who would love to bring their kids to Abby’s Garden while they work or attend school. Unfortunately, right now we can’t take on additional children unless we have more monthly support. Please consider becoming a partner with us, as we seek to grow and help more women and children.
Like usual, our time in La Vega was a whirlwind, with some of the common challenges, like excessive heat, loss of electricity, and twice not having running water in the house. These are things they deal with on a weekly basis; in fact, Divina told me they can’t do laundry on Mondays because there is never enough water that day. They have learned to adapt, but it doesn’t mean it’s always easy.
We were able to bring gifts for Abby’s Garden, including this tent. Thank you so much to all who sent toys and books and other gifts.
Giving Tuesday
We know you have many places you could give on this designated day. We’d be so grateful if you’d consider a donation to Abby’s Garden. Thank you so much for your prayers and support as we work to come alongside women and children in the Dominican Republic.
With love,
Tonya
